Bounce Insights funding hits €750k

Bounce Insights, a digital consumer marketing business, has raised further investment bringing funding to date to €750,000.

Investors in the business include Gareth Lambe, head of Meta (Facebook) Ireland, Michael Dwyer founder and former CEO of Pigsback Marketing, and serial entrepreneur Niall O’Sullivan.

The company has also secured funding from Enterprise Ireland’s high potential startup unit (HPSU) unit.

Bounce Insights was founded by Brian O’Mahony and Charlie Butler shortly after they finished studying at Trinity College. The first fundraising was €150,000 from friends and family in late 2020 and this was matched by €150,000 by Enterprise Ireland.

The most recent fundraising of €350,000 was matched with a further €100,000 from EI.

O’Mahony and Butler were planning to launch another company which targeted young adults. However, investors were concerned the idea had not been researched with the potential market. This sparked the idea for a marketing research business that would quickly test the reaction of young consumers, who are often hard to reach.

They teamed up with three computer scientists – Brandon Dooley, Josh Stafford and Ronan Dowling-Cullen.

Bounce Insights works by giving members rewards for answering the questions of brand owners.

Companies can pull together any questions they want and quickly get results. “The vast majority of the decisions these companies are making is based purely off gut feel. They are making assumptions without any real validation.

“We’ve created a platform that makes it incredibly easy for consumer facing brands to always get access to their target market.”

Clients include Tesco and Diageo, and the company now plans to expand into the UK.
