LEO’s gearing up for Enterprise Week 2022

FOSTERING entrepreneurship and nurturing small businesses are key ingredients needed to ‘Make It Happen’ for companies across Cork’s vibrant commercial sector.

That’s the view of Kevin Curran head of enterprise with the Cork North & West Local Enterprise Office (LEO) ahead of Enterprise Week 2022 which will run from March 7-11.

Run by LEO’s and supported by Enterprise Ireland and local authorities, Locale Enterprise Week will host a number of exciting online events aimed at helping both fledgling and existing small enterprises raise their profiles.

“While we run enterprise related events every week throughout the year, Enterprise Week is an opportunity to promote the various supports the LEO offers and gives our clients a chance to engage in a range of initiatives aimed at helping to promote their businesses,” said Mr Curran.

“These events are open to entrepreneurs with a business idea as well as to those already trading and in business, both sole traders and limited businesses. With this year’s events taking place online they are nearer than ever to entrepreneurs and their business,” he added.

Each day LEO’s will offer free online ‘Business Advice’ appointments with experienced staff.

Tuesday March 8 will see the start of a ‘Start Your Own Business’ initiative until April 25 and will cover a variety of pertinent topics including market research, pricing & costing, sales & marketing and getting online.

Also on Tuesday people will be able to learn more about the Trading Online Voucher Scheme though a free information webinar. It will detail how eligible applicants can avail of a free grant of up to €2,500 to bolster their online presence.

One of the highlights of the week ‘Going Green – Small Steps, Big Impact’ will see guest speaker Dr Tara Shine, founder and director environmental awareness group ‘Change By Degrees’ , address LEO clients and business owners.

The event will also highlight how the LEO’s ‘Green For Micro’ initiative is helping participating businesses become more environmentally aware.

Other events across the course of the week will include a two-day ’10 Steps to Self Employment’ programme, a ‘Digitally Connecting Your Business’ seminar and an LEO ‘Grant and Finance information seminar.

Pre-registration for all of the events is required.
