Value of deliveries handled by Scurri’s software up a third to €16.5bn, as Wexford firm powers ahead

Wexford tech firm Scurri says that the value of shipments processed through its delivery management platform increased by a third to €16.5bn last year, with the number of shipments also rising to 154 million from 115 million the year before.

The company also claims this is set to increase in the coming year, projecting an annual run rate of €20bn in gross merchandise value and 200 million shipments.

Speaking to the Irish Independent, founder and CEO Rory O’Connor said that revenue had also increased by “just under 30pc” without giving further figures.

The firm, which has raised €15.3m in funding since being founded in 2010, provides software that is used by companies which sell products online and want to organise delivery logistics.

It works with major courier and delivery services such as DHL, FedEX, UPS and An Post, as well as over 1,000 smaller platforms.

Last year, it opened a new European headquarters office in Wexford town, predicting the creation of 100 new jobs.

In May of last year, the company acquired HelloDone, a UK-based conversational AI firm, whose technology was integrated to help launch Scurri’s own digital assistant system, Scurri AI Concierge, which automates customer interactions and can be used by e-commerce brands for other marketing purposes.

In Europe, Scurri’s European competitors in delivery and logistics software include nShift and Sorted.

Mr O’Connor said that 247 new carrier services were added to the platform and that its partnership with Germany’s largest marketplace has seen the company extend its retail proposition into the EU’s biggest country supported by local sales staff with an official launch planned for early 2025.

He said that the firm attracted new clients in 2024 included Not On The High Street, UK Radiators, ARNE, Hats, OOHPod and Montirex. Existing customers include Biscuiteers, Gousto, The Perfume Shop and Bulk Powders.

“2024 was an excellent year for Scurri,” said Mr O’Connor.

“As we continue to combine technological innovation with a steadfast commitment to customer service, 2024’s achievements solidify our position as a leader in delivery management and post-purchase experience. With a focus on helping retailers and brands optimise costs and enhance customer experience, Scurri is poised for another successful year in 2025.”

While it has raised over €15m since 2010, its biggest round came in 2021, led by the UK private equity firm Gresham House Ventures. Existing investors also participated, including Pa Nolan and family offices represented by Millview Advisory.

The company also has an office in London.

In late 2024, the company announced the appointment of David Dempsey and Fionnuala Higgins to its board of directors.

Mr Dempsey is the former country leader at Salesforce in Ireland, while Ms Higgins is the former chief commercial officer at Escher Group Holdings, a global e-commerce logistics firm.
